The Mansion Scenario, weather and filth (minor spoiler about scenarios)

This has happened to me a couple of times and I can’t figure out what to do.

There is a change in weather and when i try to get to the survivor-group by the pool I get ‘snailed’. During those 5 minutes I’m not even able to get close.
The fact that I’m being attacked on the way is fine, but shouldn’t there be a possibility to reach the group? (I should maybe have stayed indoors and let those 6 people die, as they did anyway. (I’m a Templar so sacrificing for the cause is no problem :-p)

Same with that filth thing in, for instance, the Hotel. If I am so unlucky to run into it, how on earth do I get out without dying?

I like TSW because it’s challenging, but this is starting to be downright frustrating to a level I’m not to eager to replay the scenario. And that’s not the point I assume?
(Unless the scenario is made by an Illuminati-employee at FUncom)
