Fashion is a big part of The Secret World
Anyone who has ever played Funcom’s The Secret World game knows that fashion is big there and I mean BIG! It’s often you hear players commenting that their first thought upon entering The Secret World is “What will I be wearing today?”. The crew of the Beyond the Veil also hosted a Fashion even for the game’s 1st year anniversary event. You can check out the entries in this post.
The game so far has hundreds of fashionable clothing items for you to choose from, in many different styles and colors. Some items can be purchased from the game’s Item Store for real money and some can be purchased directly in-game using the game’s currency, Pax. There are several vendors where clothing and accessories can be purchased in game with the biggest one being Pangea, a department store located in London where the biggest selection of clothing items can be found.

London also hosts several other vendors where you can purchase more pricey items. These are located at the Ealdwic station where the portal to Agartha is located. In addition to all this, Funcom keeps on adding new items to this vast collection by releasing new items every week.
Funcom’s “Get your art in the game!” Contest
Listening to its community and following their suggestions, Funcom has just announced that they will be holding a contest where you can send in your own unique design for an outfit (male and/or female). Selected winner will get his/her creation implemented into The Secret World.
The contest will run from August 16th until September 15th, 2013. During that time, you can enter your design suggestion and can also send in more than one design. A jury consisting of Funcom’s developers will then rate all entries and will pick the five best designs for each male and female outfits – so a total of 10 designs. Designs selected by the devs will then be put on the Forums where everyone will get a chance to vote on them.
The winning outfit design will afterwards be created by TSW’s dev team and will be made available in-game in the The Secret World item store. The winner will of course receive this outfit for all of his/her characters for free!
