Adam Driver, who stars in the HBO show Girls, is one of the first names to be revealed for the cast of Disney’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. As of yet, there are no details describing Driver’s character, only the statement that he will “be in the vein of iconic Star Wars villain, Darth Vader.” The deal is expected to be finalized within the next few days now that conflicts between Driver’s Girls schedule and that for Episode VII have been resolved.
Aside from his work on Girls, Driver is currently filming Warner Bros. Midnight Special and is in pre-production for Martin Scorsese’s Silence. Filming for Episode VII is scheduled to begin in April at London’s Pinewood Studios and the film is set to be released December 18, 2015.
